Moose Golfers win third championship

The Jemicy Moose have won their 3rd consecutive MIAA C Conference golf championship. This is the second year in a row that the team has finished undefeated, going 14-0 this spring. The Moose finished the 2021 season defeating Friends School-Baltimore 11.5-9.5 at Green Spring Valley Hunt Club.

Jemicy was led by seniors Jayven Hull  and Zach Barton at the one and two spots in the line up. In the second pairing, senior Dixon Colston and freshman Blake Levy teamed up, followed by junior Jacob Elkins and senior Kilburn Russo.

Hull said this championship, his third, was a total team effort.

“At first, in my opinion, I thought it was just going to be Zach [Barton] and I caring to team. However, later I saw my other teammates step up. They played very well. When we played Friends, I knew we would get the victory because I knew others would do their part.”

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Jemicy was able to finish the job. The champions shut out Glenelg, St. John’s, and Mount Carmel twice. In the playoffs, the Moose received a first-round bye and played St. Vincent Pallotti in the semifinals, winning 12.5-8.5.

This is yet another milestone for the Jemicy Moose golfers!
