“She’s great! She’s very sophisticated, poised, and elegant, but it doesn’t make her unapproachable. She’s awesome,” said Meghan Gosse ‘21 about the focus of the latest senior spotlight – Jada White.
White is a star thespian, which is a huge accomplishment.
White began her theatrical career in the role of Sexton in Jemicy’s production of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, and Cinderella’s stepmother in Stephen Sondheim’s Into The Woods. She has now taken the leading role of Miss Scarlet in the Moose production of Sandy Rustin’s Clue.
It’s no wonder why she’s gotten this role; she’s a very talented actress.
“I remember her performance in the winter showcase. It was amazing, I remember thinking ‘Wow.’ This is a really good performance!’’ said teacher Jeremy Bryant about White’s performance of the song “Roxie Hart” from the famous musical Chicago.
Along with sporting impressive acting chops, she’s a dancer and a cheerleader here at Jemicy as well.
Last year’s cheerleading squad performed a dance that the entire team choreographed. She showed her expertise in dance and choreography, as it opened with her section of choreography, and the crowd was stunned.
“Jada brought her dance experience to cheerleading and played an integral role in the choreography of our dance.” Cheer coach, Liza Koh wrote.
Jada is also known for her career as a model, which she started in sophomore year. She’s showcased a tiny bit of her career on Instagram, and of course, looks stunning in every picture.
As Jada now has mere weeks remaining here on the Jemicy campus, she looks back on her days here fondly.
“One of my best memories is the morning of my first day of my senior year when my mom and dad drove me to school,” she wrote.
When I asked about her biggest inspiration at Jemicy, she responded that a particular faculty member taught her important lessons in life, and in numbers.
“Mr. Trudell [inspires me]! He’s shown me that it’s ok not to be perfect at everything, especially math!”
Jada is a kind person with many talents, and we can’t wait to see what great things she’ll do in the future.
