It might seem difficult to find things to do during the quarantine, but surprisingly, there are plenty of activities that can be done while you are at home. I know that I have been spending this time walking my dog and watching shows on Netflix. My family and I also watch movies, and I have even started a garden with my mom. I’ve used this time to play frisbee and other games with my siblings. The Jemicy journalism team asked some students via text, email, FaceTime, and Skype meetings what they have been up to since spring break.
I asked Fuller Clement, a Jemicy junior, what he is doing to pass the time. Fuller shared that while he was stuck in Florida, he swam a lot and he watched movies with his family. Now that he is back in Maryland, he has started working on puzzles with his brother. He also started working with 3D design by working on his 3D printer and learning more about its capabilities. Finally, Fuller shared that he is face-timing with his extended family.
Senior Spencer Knolle shared that he misses hanging out with friends, going out to shops, and going to a physical school. He also shared that because of the quarantine, he has found that he is sleeping a lot more, which makes it a bit more tolerable to be home, but that he still wishes that he could hang out with his friends after school.
Sophomore Fletcher Silberg shared that he has started to draw a lot more than he thinks he would have if school was still going on. He has also been playing soccer in front of his house. He also stated that he misses his teachers and his friends and that he hopes to see everyone in August.
Junior Devin Lewis shared this about his experience during quarantine, “It [The quarantine] is a lot of sitting in my room being bored and playing video games (Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Rainbow 6 Seige), so not a lot’s changed. It’s weird, though; I wouldn’t normally want to leave, but now that I can’t, I kind of want to.”
Freshman Judy Gibson, my sister, commented about her experiences in this video she shared.
